FOUNDERS STORY

Rula has always lived alongside animals.  From her earliest memories, they were simply part of her world.  Her companions, her constants, her adventures.  As a child she would narrate entire journeys for herself and her pets to places only they could see.

Without realizing it, animals, storytelling and travel had already become part of who she was.

Between those two worlds, Rula spent three decades in international finance, where she learned that the most powerful ideas are the ones with both discipline and soul.

Then came Odie.

During COVID, he came into her life and everything shifted.  

They became inseparable. 

He was not only a travel companion, but part of her everyday life. 

He went wherever she went.

Together, they eventually relocated to Riyadh.

It was there, in a country rediscovering and reasserting its identity that something clicked.

Through Rula’s experiences as a pet owner, she began seeing the world around her differently.  There was so much available, but very little that reflected culture, depth or emotional connection.

This would become Odie and the Nomad.
